What the result means
- Identical: the files are equal byte for byte.
- Identical in content: the files differ in their bytes (for example after a new export) but show no differences above the tolerance when rasterised.
- Different: page count or page size differs, or at least one page shows differences above the tolerance.
Technical limits
The comparison rasterises each page at 150 dpi and evaluates colour deviations with a tolerance. It is a technical approximation. In particular, the following are not detected or not assessed:
- differences below the resolution or tolerance, such as very fine lines or minimal colour deviations,
- colour spaces and profiles (CMYK, RGB, spot colours), overprint, transparencies, screen angles,
- trim and bleed settings, printer's marks, metadata, font embedding, layers and form fields,
- content outside the visible page area.
No print approval
The result does not replace a print approval, a preflight check or a review by qualified staff. Decisions about printing, reprinting or approval are your own responsibility.

To the extent permitted by law we accept no liability for damage arising from the use of the comparison result. Section 5 of the terms of use remains unaffected.
